Golden Pothos 6"

A classic and deeply loved beginner plant, Golden Pothos is just as beautiful as it is low-maintenance and extremely easy to care for. Also called Devil's Ivy, the Golden Pothos plant is a tropical vine with shiny, heart-shaped leaves that often have gold, white, or yellow variegation patterns. Of course it thrives in bright and indirect light, the great thing about Pothos is that it is very tolerant of low light, making it super easy to look after and upkeep. If you like trailing, vining plants that are easy to take care of, Pothos is an excellent choice.

This plant is slightly toxic and is not considered pet-safe.

Botanical Name:  Epipremnum Aureum

  • Bright indirect, to low light tolerant.

  • When soil is dry.

Pot & Soil:

  • Choose a pot with a solid drainage hole in the bottom. If not, use a nursery pot with a planter that doesn't have drainage and be sure to monitor the roots of the plant to prevent mold or root rot. Pothos plants do not like to sit in wet soil; they will rot easily.
  • Plant golden pothos in a general well-draining potting mix (or a soilless mix). If you have it on hand, feel free to mix in a few handfuls of perlite or coco coir to increase the drainage capacity of your potting mix.
  • Pothos does well in a hanging basket to show off the vines, or in a regular pot placed on a plant stand. They can be allowed to grow up walls, though their aerial roots—which they use to attach themselves to surfaces like trees or other vertical structures—can strip paint.
